There were several conspiracies against him, and he was eventually stabbed to death by his own bodyguards. It's certain that he wanted to increase his authority, which made him unpopular with the Senate. The outrageous tales about him committing incest with his sisters, sending his army against the sea and having them collect shells as booty, and wanting to make his favorite horse a consul come from Suetonius, who wrote a biography about him 80 years after his death (and was in the employ of an another dynasty of Emperors who had interest in demonizing their predecessors).
It's hard to find out how much of this is true, since hardly any contemporary sources survived about him. The popular image about him is of an insane tyrant. His actual name was Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus Caligula is a nickname, meaning "little boot", that he got in his childhood, because he liked to dress up as a soldier. – 2:00 p.m.The infamous Roman emperor, reigned between AD 37 and AD 41. Info for all events and ticketing information can be found here.Īqua Teen Hunger Force Forever & Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell The Nighttime screening events seem like a lot of fun, showcasing early previews of Mike Tyson Mysteries, Venture Bros., Rick and Morty, and others. The activities seem to be pretty good, but overall the panels that Adult Swim are bringing this year leaves a lot to be desired. Friday is kinda that, but it’s not all that different than years’ past. There isn’t really anything brand-new, and this is the first year in a long time that I can remember Adult Swim NOT doing a panel with multiple animated shows being presented at once. I gotta tell ya, as compared to last year, Adult Swim’s 2015 lineup at San Diego Comic Con seems rather quaint to say the least.
